Six cops martyred as blast targets armoured vehicle in KP's Tank

Six policemen were martyred on Monday when an improvised explosive device (IED) struck their armoured vehicle in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Tank district.

According to the local police, the armoured personnel carrier (APC) was targeted in the limits of the Gomal police station while it was en route to Tank.

The official said that all six officers lost their lives in the blast.

Rescue teams shifted the bodies to the District Headquarters Hospital in Tank, where emergency arrangements were put in place.

KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi took notice of the incident and directed senior police officials to submit an immediate report.

 In a statement, he expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and offered condolences to the families of the fallen officers.
