The Sindh cabinet on Tuesday approved a series of reforms to the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC), including raising the upper age limit for the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) from 30 to 33 years and increasing the number of attempts allowed from three to five.
The decisions were taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah at the CM House in Karachi.
The cabinet also approved reducing the minimum qualifying marks for the screening test of CCE 2026 from 40 per cent to 33 per cent.
According to a briefing to the cabinet, computerised testing will be introduced for examinations consisting of a single paper, with arrangements to print results immediately after the tests.
The meeting also considered revising the marks allocated for SPSC interviews in line with the ratio followed by the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC).
Proposals for introducing information technology and artificial intelligence-based reforms at the SPSC were also discussed, along with the formation of a cabinet committee to oversee the reforms.
Other proposals included assurances against retaliatory action against candidates who took part in protests and a review mechanism for candidates who believe they were unfairly targeted during interviews.
