A video of a female reporter confronting a man who publicly shamed her for not wearing a dupatta circulated on social media, sparking debate among netizens.

Unfazed by the awkward exchange, the anchor remained composed and tactfully handled the situation.

In the viral video, a reporter was doing a roadside show when she interviewed a young boy about the Palestine issue. The boy, unexpectedly, turned his attention to the reporter's attire, claiming she violated the religious code by not wearing a dupatta.

He then went on to put the shawl on her head. In response, the woman calmly and assertively told the man that he touched her against her will and put the dupatta on her head.

“Why does your Islam start and end with a woman's dupatta,” she asked the man.

The female reporter said that she could get the man arrested for his act, which constitutes "social harassment," adding that such beahviour is unacceptbale.

The man who placed the dupatta on her insisted he had not done anything wrong, saying she was “like a sister” to him.

Incensed by the man's actions, the reporter pointed out that "he had no right to touch her."

"I am not your sister, and you better not address me as such," she rebutted the male interviewee.

Furthermore, she emphasised that the practice of wearing a dupatta is a personal choice, not something he can dictate.

Many netizens showered praise on the reporter for handling the situation with remarkable poise, stating that the man had no right to invade her privacy or impose his beliefs on others.

Journalist Shama Junejo criticised that the man could not lower his gaze but continued to objectify the woman.
