Rehman Dakait's nephew among two arrested during robbery bid

Karachi police claimed to have arrested two suspects, including the nephew of notorious Lyari gang war figure Rehman Dakait.

According to the police, the suspects were caught red-handed while committing an offence. Weapons along with ammunition and a snatched motorcycle were recovered from their possession.

The arrested men were identified as Haris and Rashid Ali. The police said that Haris is the nephew of Rehman Dakait and has previously been jailed in a case involving illegal weapons.

Rashid Ali has also been arrested in the past in multiple cases, including drug peddling and the sale of gutka and mawa.

The police said that both suspects have criminal records and have been sent to jail in previous cases. The recovered motorcycle, bearing registration number KTB-0057, had been reported stolen, and a case regarding it was already registered at Kalakot police station.

The police have registered fresh cases against the suspects and said further legal proceedings are underway.
