Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) criticised Pakistani news channels for showing the Israeli parliament’s session live, while Imran Khan remains barred from media coverage.

In a statement issued from its official X account, the party said, “So now Israel’s Parliament can be aired on Pakistani media, but Pakistan’s biggest political party, PTI, and its leader Imran Khan remain censored.”

On Monday, US President Donald Trump was invited to address the Israeli Knesset, and his speech was aired live by multiple Pakistani channels. The broadcast sparked outrage, especially since Pakistan has repeatedly clarified that it does not recognise Israel.

During the coverage, Netanyahu appeared on television screens several times. The decision to air proceedings from the Israeli parliament drew strong criticism from various quarters, including former PTI leader Shireen Mazari, who called it “shameful.”

“This is shocking. We do not recognise the rogue entity Israel, so how can we show live proceedings from this terrorist entity’s ‘parliament’? Shameful appeasement,” Mazari wrote on X.

Many PTI supporters and activists also condemned the move, pointing out that while the PTI founder remains banned and absent from mainstream media, Netanyahu and Israel’s parliament were given prominent airtime.

The coverage of the Israeli parliament came at a time when public anger against Israel is already running high. Many remain skeptical about the so-called Gaza peace plan and whether it could push more Muslim countries toward normalising ties with Israel, as no clear details of the plan have emerged so far.
