Pakistan International Airlines' flight from Jeddah to Islamabad left 50 passengers at Jeddah Airport due to a lack of space in the aircraft.

According to the sources, most of the passengers were Umrah pilgrims who were supposed to return to Pakistan yesterday, but due to the narrow capacity in the craft, the airlines did not take them back to the country.

A spokesperson of the national flag carrier said the passengers were provided with accommodation and basic facilities in a nearby hotel while arrangements were made for their transportation to Islamabad.

The flight was originally scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on Sunday, however, due to limited capacity in the aircraft, it couldn’t bring 50 passengers back home.

Meanwhile, the airlines assured that a special flight would transport all passengers from Jeddah to Islamabad today.

Moreover, flights from Jeddah to Karachi and from Karachi to Islamabad have also been facing delays due to alleged irregularities in PIA’s flight operations.
