PMD issues heavy rain alert across Pakistan from August 4 to 7

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert, forecasting heavy rainfall across the country between August 4 and 7.
According to the forecast, strong winds and thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rains are expected in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and upper regions.
Intermittent heavy showers are also likely in various areas of Islamabad, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
On August 6, parts of Balochistan and Sindh are expected to receive intense rainfall, which may lead to water accumulation in low-lying areas, flash floods in streams and nullahs, and potential localized flooding.

The Meteorological Department has advised district administrations and emergency response agencies to take precautionary measures in advance.
Citizens have also been urged to avoid unnecessary travel and adopt safety precautions during this period.
The department stated that it is closely monitoring the evolving weather conditions and will continue to provide timely updates to the public.
