Pakistan repatriates eight Iranian fishermen rescued at sea

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday said that eight Iranian fishermen, who were rescued at sea after their boat ran aground, have been successfully repatriated and left Karachi for Iran.
In a post on X, Dar said the fishermen were rescued by the British vessel MMA Valour and had departed for Iran this morning.
“Glad to share that the eight (8) Iranian fishermen rescued at sea by the British vessel MMA Valour after their boat ran aground have been successfully repatriated and departed from Karachi for Iran this morning,” he wrote.
Dar said Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant authorities worked closely with Iranian and British officials to ensure the safe transit and early return of the fishermen.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan and all concerned authorities coordinated closely with the Iranian and UK authorities to facilitate the safe transit and early return of our Iranian brethren to their homeland,” he said.
He also thanked his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi and appreciated the cooperation of all stakeholders involved in the process.
