Islamabad: Police investigating the murder of Pakistan Air Force Group Captain Asim Tariq have uncovered an alleged case of online firearm delivery to Islamabad.
During interrogation, the prime suspect, Saad Abbasi, told investigators that the weapon used in the killing had been ordered online and delivered from Haripur to Islamabad.
According to the suspect, he had purchased the firearm several months earlier by placing an online order and having it delivered to his home.
He claimed the weapon was originally intended for celebratory aerial firing at a friend's wedding.
The suspect allegedly used the same firearm to fatally shoot Group Captain Asim Tariq in the recent incident.
According to investigators, Group Captain Asim Tariq intervened after seeing the suspect allegedly harassing a young woman. When he attempted to stop him, the suspect reportedly opened fire, killing the officer.
