In a significant achievement, Kinza Bibi, who got training from the Sindh government to drive a four-wheeler, became the first woman driver of Pink Bus Service.

Kinza was among the 18 drivers who were trained at Mehran Depot in Karachi for the women-only bus service.

Earlier, the Sindh government had launched two more routes of the Pink Bus Service and announced that female passengers could avail the facility free of cost for a period of two months.

During the ceremony, Pakistan Peoples Party women’s division head Faryal Talpur presented licenses to 4 female drivers of the Pink Bus Service.

The Pink Bus Service is expected to serve thousands of women on a total of five busy routes.

The women-only pink buses have already women conductors, and will now also have women drivers.

The presence of female drivers and conductors in pink buses stands as a tangible example of empowered and resilient women, challenging stereotypes and contributing to a more inclusive society.
