Asim Munir reaffirms Pakistan’s resolve against terrorism

Field Marshal Asim Munir reiterated the armed forces’ resolve to combat terrorism and ensure lasting peace and stability across Pakistan during a visit to Corps Headquarters Peshawar.

According to ISPR, Munir was briefed on the security situation in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, ongoing counterterrorism operations, border management measures and the operational preparedness of formations deployed in the province.

The military chief commended the morale, readiness and professionalism of officers and troops and directed formations to remain vigilant and maintain high standards of operational preparedness. 

Furthermore, he visited Yadgar-e-Shuhada, laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha for soldiers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The visit came a day after Pakistan announced “calibrated” air strikes against terrorist camps and hideouts in the border region with Afghanistan. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said 28 terrorists were killed in the strikes, while nine more were killed during intelligence-based ground operations in Kohat and Hangu, bringing the reported total to 37.
