Rajab Butt, Nadeem Nani Wala get relief from IHC after arrival in Islamabad

The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday approved 10-day transit bail for YouTuber Rajab Butt and TikToker Nadeem Mubarak, alias Nadeem Nani Wala, allowing them time to surrender before the relevant courts hearing cases against them.

Justice Inam Amin Minhas heard their bail petitions. During the hearing, the petitioners’ lawyer requested a 15-day transit bail, informing the court that cases were also registered against his clients in Karachi.

After hearing arguments, Justice Minhas granted 10-day transit bail and directed both men to appear before the courts concerned.

Earlier, the Islamabad High Court had approved protective bail for the two until December 10 (today), ordering authorities not to arrest them upon their arrival at Islamabad Airport.

Both social media personalities are facing multiple cases, including those related to cybercrime.

In their bail application, they stated that the cases registered against them were “baseless” and that they had no involvement in the alleged offence. Both further argued that the cases were lodged with malicious intent.

The petition noted that Butt had planned to return to Pakistan but sought protective bail upon learning that he could be arrested upon arrival. NCCIA had registered a case against him in September for allegedly promoting illegal gambling apps. Butt has been residing in the UK for several months.
