Singer Quratulain Balouch was injured in a bear attack while camping at Deosai National Park in Gilgit Baltistan. She sustained injuries to both arms from the bear's claws.
She was immediately taken to Skardu’s Regional Headquarters Hospital, where she received medical treatment and was later discharged.
Deosai National Park, known for its rich biodiversity, is home to a variety of wild animals. Apart from bears, the area hosts marmots (locally called Trishuna), Tibetan wolves, foxes, Himalayan ibex, snow leopards, golden eagles, bearded eagles, and falcons.
The park is also famous for its rare and valuable herbs. Visitors are advised to check local sanctuaries and take precautions when exploring the park, as it remains a natural habitat for these wild species.

Covering an area of 482 square kilometers, the Deosai Plateau is the world’s second-highest plateau and is often described as a “home of lakes.”
Located between the Karakoram and Himalayan mountain ranges, the plateau features an estimated 30 lakes, many of which remain largely unexplored, making it both a botanical treasure and a haven for wildlife.
