Veteran actress Saba Faisal weighed in on the debate about sons vs daughters. She argued that sons are equally important, who can provide strong support to their parents during challenging times.

She appeared on a morning show alongside actresses Laila Zuberi and Annie Zaidi, and the conversation turned to the value of sons versus daughters. Each celebrity shared their own experiences on the topic.

Laila Zuberi expressed her gratitude for having two daughters, describing them as "very loving and caring." She added that people often questioned her about not having sons, but she “never felt the absence of a son in her life.”

Saba Faisal, who is a mother of two sons, offered a different perspective. She spoke about her younger sister, who has only daughters.

“My younger sister used to say she was grateful for not having sons, and we wouldn't respond to those remarks. But then, she called me yesterday. Her husband passed away, and both her daughters are abroad. One in Australia and the other studying elsewhere. She was in tears on the phone, saying her car broke down in the middle of the road. She started mentioning problems that are causing her depression," she said.

The former news anchor turned actor further elaborated on her point, saying, “Therefore, parents saying they are grateful for having daughters only are wrong, sons are equally important. They should be thankful for having both. They might feel the absence of sons later in life.”

"Sons are always there for their parents, even if they can't be physically present. Just knowing they are there for you is enough," she added.

Saba Faisal's comments sparked controversy on social media, with influencer and actress Hira Khan criticising her remarks.

Khan took to her Instagram story, stating, "Stunned by the audacity and stupidity.”

To which Saba replied. “Hira, you need experience in life to understand my point.”
