Former Pakistani actress Noor Bukhari, who is also the wife of Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party leader Aun Chaudhry, filed her nomination papers to participate in the electoral process, slated to take place across Pakistan on February 8.

The former television host, who entered politics with the submission of her nomination papers, will be contesting as a candidate of Jahangir Tareen's Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) for the Punjab assembly’s reserved seat, PP-163, for women.

Bukhari appeared before the returning officer (RO) at the Punjab Election Commission office for the scrutiny process, which has been completed.

It's worth noting that Noor Bukhari is an ardent fan of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan's wife, Bushra Bibi.

In 2021, Bukhari described her relationship with the former first lady as "more than a mother” to her.

During a question-and-answer (Q&A) session on Instagram, Noor was asked about her relationship with former prime minister's wife.

"What is your relation with pinky mam, wife of Imran Khan. Bushra Bibi. I respect her as spritual person," the fan asked.

The ex-actor responded: "She is more than a mother to me."

Five years ago, Noor had shared a photo of her with Bushra Bibi in Saudi Arabia, captioned "my spiritual teacher".

However, Bukhari's husband Aun Chaudhry, who was once Imran Khan's close aide, is now a prominent leader within the IPP ranks.
