The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has filed an FIR against nine officials of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) for allegedly misusing their authority and engaging in corrupt practices.

The first information report (FIR) was lodged on the complaint of Aroob Jatoi, wife of YouTuber Saadur Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, who was recently arrested for allegedly promoting gambling applications on social media.

According to the FIR, those nominated in the FIR include Additional Director Chaudhry Sarfraz, Deputy Director (acting in charge) Zawar Ahmad, Sub-Inspector Ali Raza, Assistant Director Shoaib Riaz, Sub-Inspector Yasir Ramzan, and Assistant Director Mujtaba Zafar, all stationed at the NCCIA’s Lahore office.

These six officers were reported missing for several days before the FIA confirmed their arrest on charges of “misuse of authority” and bribery.

Also named in the case are Muhammad Usman, NCCIA Deputy Director (Operations) in Islamabad, who had been missing for days, along with Deputy Director Ayaz Khan and Salman Aziz.

The FIR was officially registered on Monday evening, invoking Sections 109 (abetment), and 161 (public servant taking illegal gratification) of the Pakistan Penal Code, in conjunction with Section 5(2)47 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, which pertains to criminal misconduct by public servants.

The investigation into the alleged misuse of authority and bribery by the NCCIA officers is currently underway
