Renowned Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari has spoken out against domestic violence, advising married women to leave their abusive husbands at the first sign of abuse.

In a YouTube video, Ansari expressed her regret and frustration towards parents who fail to protect their daughters from domestic violence.

"Leave your husband at the first slap. If you don't, he will continue to torture you again and again," the Jawani Phir Nahi Ani actress said.

The host questioned why parents who know their daughters are being tortured don't take action to protect them.

Describing the parents negligence, the actress cited the recent case of Sania Zerha, who was allegedly killed by her husband in Multan and her arents knew she was being oppressed but failed to intervene.

"Why don't they go ahead and save or protect her? Why do they wait for her to be killed?" Ansari asked.

The Udaari starlet said that married women should be protected like small children or daughters and urged independent and educated women to take immediate action if they face abuse.

"If you are able to leave your husband after the first slap, then do it. Don't wait for the second or third time," she said.

Ansari also referenced the case of TV host Ayesha Jahanzeb, who suffered domestic violence despite being educated and independent.

"Why didn't she leave her husband? He may be a good father, but he was not a good husband," the Ho Mann Jahaan actress said, urging women to prioritise their safety and well-being.
