Known for her radical political views, Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut is set to launch her political journey by participating in the 2024 general elections in India.

As per reports from Indian media, the actress's father has affirmed Kangana Ranaut's candidacy for the upcoming election, representing the ruling far-right extremist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Speculation about Kangana's venture into politics arose after her meeting with the BJP national president JP Nadda last Saturday.

The actress had previously alluded to the possibility of entering politics in various media interviews.

Kangana Ranaut has been notably vocal in her support for theHindu majoritarianism discourse of Modi government and the BJP, aligning herself with the ideological stance of the political party and endorsing its various initiatives promoting bigotry in an increasingly polarising india.

In November, during an interview with a newspaper, Kangana Ranaut hinted at a potential foray into politics, expressing her desire to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

A few days ago, a video of Kangana Ranaut expressing her support for the Israeli settler state circulated on social media, as she met with the Israeli ambassador after occupation forces launched a deadly offence on Palestinians.

On her Instagram, she shared pictures with the ambassador. She wrote in her caption, "Had a soulful meeting with Israel’s ambassador to Bharat, Shri Naor Gilon ji." A translation of her text in Hindi further reads, "Today the whole world, especially Israel and India are fighting their war against terrorism. Yesterday when I reached Delhi to burn Ravana, I felt the Israel Embassy should come and meet those who are defeating terrorists like today's modern Ravana Hamas."

With a string of recent films steeped in jingoistic fervour, such as 'Emergency' in 2022 portraying Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Kangana also took the lead in 'Tejass.'

In this role, she portrayed air force Wing Commander Tejas Gill, entrusted with a mission to rescue an Indian spy from the clutches of fanatic Islamists.
