The 41-year-old cricketer is the former spouse of Indian tennis star Sania Mirza. The couple tied the knot in 2010 in a lavish wedding ceremony in Hyderabad, India and celebrated their Walima in Sialkot. The duo welcomed their first child, Izhaan in 2018.
Rumours of their separation swirled in late 2022, fueled by cryptic social media posts from Sania. Despite the buzz, the couple remained silent and even co-hosted a reality show together.
Netizens on both neighbouring sides were awestruck by the 'unexpected' union, leaving them unable to speculate beforehand.
The majority of social media users directed their criticism towards Shoaib Malik and expressed sympathy for Sania Mirza.

Another Pakistani user on 'X' accused Shoaib Malik of infidelity towards Sania Mirza, as she faced severe criticism from India but defied all odds to marry him.
