Acclaimed actor Sanam Saeed opined that women are increasingly leaving toxic marriages because they are empowered to speak up for themselves.

While each divorce can have different reasons, she underscored the importance of education for women's independence.

In a recent interview, Saeed said, “Divorce rates are higher because women do not have to saty in toxic marriages out of necessity. It is crucial to never settle in a compromised relationship, which is why education is vital."

"Parents must prioritise their daughters' education, even if they plan for their early marriage," she strongly emphasised.

The 'Cake' starlet shed light on the mental health impact of different phases of life and emphasised on seeking therapy during rivorce phase or other challenging times of life.

"I first sought therapy after losing my mother," she revealed. "While I felt okay initially, I knew I needed to talk about my emotions with someone. Unprocessed grief can manifest in negative ways later in lifes," she maintained.

Saeed continued, "Women often neglect their own grief by focusing on their children, husbands, and families.  They listen to their fathers and brothers before marriage, then their husbands and in-laws afterwards. Where is her voice?”

She acknowledged the existence of gender roles for societal order but stressed the significance of empathy.

“Two companions must take care of each other. One must feel for their companion and be kind and compassionate towards each other and should not take their partner for granted. Men and women should understand each other's experiences, sacrifices, and needs," the 'Ishrat Made in China' actor said.

She highlighted that unhappy wives and mothers negatively impact families while emphasising their role in “shaping core values of a good man.”

"While both parents are crucial in a perfect relationship, babies bond with their mothers first. They are a child's first love," Sanam concluded.
