Veteran actress Bushra Ansari addressed her second marriage to actor and director Iqbal Hussain, putting to rest rumours about their relationship. While the couple had tied the knot earlier, they recently shared their marital status with the public in a video.

Bushra Ansari, who has been keeping fans engaged with her YouTube vlogs, shared a video clip where the couple discussed the stigmas surrounding marriage later in life.

Iqbal Hussain revealed that their friendship blossomed while working on a drama together, leading him to propose marriage to Bushra. However, she took a thoughtful approach and took time before accepting the proposal.

"After thirty years of staying in a marriage, I had no intention of remarrying. I was financially independent, my children were married, and I had a fulfilling life," the legendary actress said.

"I did not even disclose my divorce for a long time, so naturally, no one approached me for a second marriage," she added.

The couple expressed gratitude to their friends and family, including Asma Abbas and her husband Bilal Abbas, Behroze Sabzwari, Badar Khalil, and Sultana Siddiqui, for their unwavering support as they embarked on this new chapter in their lives.

Bushra Ansari stated that her husband, although younger in age, but possesses incredibly maturity than her. This mental compatibility, she explained, fostered their friendship and ultimately led to a union.

The duo maintained that while they “do not want to pressure elderly people, especially women, into marriage, if such an opportunity arises in their lives, it is definitely worth considering.”

They did emphasise, however, that if such a decision would cause family discord or create conflict, it is best to avoid it.

"Children often readily accept their fathers' second marriage, but this acceptance is not always extended to their mothers, who deserve equal happiness," Bushra said, encouraging widowed or divorced women to consider second marriage if it feels right for them.

Iqbal Hussain further advocated for dismantling societal biases around age in marriage. He opined that just as men can marry younger women, marrying an older woman should also be considered an equally valid choice.
