The growing menace of stray dogs in Pakistan’s largest city has once again put lives at risk, after a stray dog attacked a female polio worker, leaving her injured.

According to details, the unchecked rise in the number of stray dogs across Karachi has made daily life increasingly difficult for residents.

Hundreds of stray dogs can be seen roaming various neighbourhoods, posing a serious threat to the safety of women, children and the general public.

Dog bites are particularly dangerous due to the risk of rabies, a potentially fatal disease if not treated in time.

The latest incident occurred in Zaman Town, Korangi, where a female worker was bitten by a dog while carrying out duties under the anti-polio campaign.

Officials said the injured woman was immediately shifted to Indus Hospital for medical treatment.

Concerned citizens have urged the Sindh government to take urgent preventive measures to protect the public, citing the rising number of dog-bite incidents across the city.
