Asim Munir reviews Pakistan’s defense production at POF Wah

Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) in Wah to review the country’s defence production capabilities, export potential and contribution to Pakistan’s defence industrial base.

According to the ISPR, Field Marshal Munir was briefed on POF’s operations and its role in the indigenous development and production of a wide range of military equipment. 

He also witnessed tests and trials of locally designed and manufactured arms and ammunition.

ISPR said the field marshal was briefed on progress in POF’s corporatization process following the enactment of the Defence Industrial Production Regulatory Authority (DIPRA) Ordinance.

He was also apprised of ongoing indigenization and modernization efforts, including the installation of two new industrial plants. The plants are expected to begin production by the end of this year, according to ISPR.
