The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has warned of a deepening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where Palestinians are facing critical shortages of food, clean water, and essential supplies amid Israel’s ongoing blockade and restrictions.
In its latest statement, UNRWA emphasized that access to safe drinking water is a basic human right, yet millions of Palestinians remain deprived of it. The agency noted that despite immense challenges, it has provided clean water to nearly 250,000 displaced people in Gaza.
According to UNRWA, thousands of families continue to live in dire conditions without enough food, medical care, or shelter. The agency blamed Israel’s tight blockade for severely hindering the flow of humanitarian assistance into the besieged territory.

Although a ceasefire agreement was announced between Israel and Hamas, Israeli military operations reportedly continue in several areas of Gaza, violating the truce. The continued closure of border crossings has further blocked the entry of aid and supplies for civilians trapped inside the enclave.
Humanitarian groups have repeatedly cautioned that Gaza’s situation is deteriorating rapidly, urging immediate international action to restore unrestricted aid access and protect the lives of those caught in the conflict.
