Edhi rescuer reveals what he saw first at Mir Raza’s crime scene

The Edhi rescue worker who was the first to reach the crime scene in the case of young Karachi businessman Mir Raza has revealed what he witnessed at the scene.

New details continue to emerge in the case, raising questions about what happened at the crime scene and how the victim’s body was initially examined.

Edhi volunteer Mohsin Shah, who was among the first responders, shared key details about the condition of the body and what he observed upon arrival.

Mohsin Shah said that when he reached the location, several police vehicles were already present. The body was initially hidden from view by bushes. With the help of police personnel, the flowerpots and bushes were removed, after which the body was turned over and a gunshot wound was discovered.

He said it also appeared that some type of chemical had been thrown onto the body.

According to Shah, when the victim’s shirt was lifted, a gunshot wound was visible and was still bleeding. He said the Edhi team had initially been called under the impression that they were dealing with an unidentified body.

“We informed the police that the man had suffered a gunshot wound and asked what needed to be done next,” Shah said.

The Edhi volunteer added that police officers told them that senior officials would arrive and instructed them to leave the body at the scene for the time being.

Another volunteer, Javed, said the victim’s face was severely damaged and fingerprints could not be obtained. He said the skin had deteriorated and appeared to have been burned.

The revelations have added further questions to the ongoing investigation into the death of Mir Raza.
