The Pakistan cricket team on Saturday bid farewell to Australian star batter David Warner with a heartfelt gift during the third and final Test of the series at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

The Kangaroos emerged victorious in the final Test, securing an 8-wicket win and completing a series whitewash against the Green Caps. 

Following the match, the spotlight shifted to David Warner, who marked his last Test appearance with an innings of 57 runs before being dismissed lbw by Sajid Khan.

As Warner made his way off the field, a standing ovation from both Pakistani players and the Sydney stadium crowd acknowledged his illustrious Test career. 

During the award ceremony, Pakistan team skipper Shan Masood took the opportunity to extend congratulations to the Australian veteran.

In a symbolic gesture, Masood presented Warner with a special farewell gift - Babar Azam's jersey, bearing the signatures of all the Pakistani players. 

The shirt was presented as a token of respect and admiration for Warner's remarkable contributions to the sport.

Last year in June, Warner announced his retirement from Test cricket, saying "he will be playing his last Test at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) against Pakistan in January."

Following his retirement from red-ball cricket, The Australian star also bid farewell to one-day international cricket on January 1.

The 37-year-old batter holds an impressive Test record of 8,695 runs at an average of 44.58, with 26 centuries and 36 half-centuries.

Warner left one-day cricket after playing 161 matches, smashing 6,932 runs at an average of 45.30.
