Cricket fans could be in for a thrilling September as Pakistan and India are likely to face each other up to three times in the Asia Cup 2025 with the tournament expected to be hosted in the United Arab Emirates.
The highly-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan is likely to take place as planned, according to media reports.
The 17-day tournament is scheduled to start on September 5. The arch-rivals are expected to be placed in the same group with the possibility of three high-voltage encounters, on September 7 in the group stage, September 14 in the Super Four, and potentially in the final on September 21.
Separately, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi expressed optimism that all issues related to the Asia Cup 2025 will be resolved soon.
He was speaking to the media following the conclusion of the ACC’s Annual General Meeting in Dhaka.

Naqvi said that the environment of the meeting was positive and thanked all 25 member nations for their participation. He also commended the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for hosting the two-day event.
“These two days were truly memorable. The environment was positive and constructive,” Naqvi said. “No one wants politics; we are all here to work for cricket. A decision regarding the Asia Cup will be made soon. It’s a team effort, and we will continue to hold such meetings.”
Naqvi’s remarks come amid ongoing discussions over the tournament’s venue and format, with the United Arab Emirates widely expected to host the event in September.
