A 5-year-old boy became a hero on Sunday when he protected his family's life and house from armed robbers in Karachi.

The incident happened in Gulshan-e-Maymar, where three armed dacoits entered a house with the intent of robbery and tied Husnain and his mother with rope.

At the time when robbers were looting the house, Husnain cleverly unbolted himself of ropes and then opened her mother’s hand as well.

The victims, after getting rid of the ropes, made a call to the police emergency service and law enforcers reached the spot timely.

However, the dacoits opened fire after seeing a police party at the scene, and in exchange of fire, one dacoit was killed while two others were wounded.

Amidst escalating cases of street crimes in the metropolis, at least 16 people lost their lives for resisting robbery during Ramadan. The statistics showed that as many as 6,780 cases of looting were reported during the fasting month.
