Woman driver arrested for running car over Motorway cop in Rawalpindi

ISLAMABAD: The woman driver has been booked and arrested by the Rawalpindi police after she rammed her car into a Motorway Police personnel and vented anger at the traffic wardens for stopping her for overspeeding.

The woman was identified as Farah.

The viral video caused outrage online, as people were calling for her arrest for attempting to run over a cop.

In a statement, the Rawalpindi police department said that the woman was hiding after being booked in a case at the Nasirabad Police Station for hitting the Motorway cop with her car.

She was arrested by a special team headed by a Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Operations following the order of RPO Rawalpindi Babar Sarfraz Alpa, the statement added.

Earlier, Islamabad police clarified that the incident occurred in January. In the clip, the police officer can be seen filming the women sitting in White Honda Civic. She also abused an on-duty police officer before hitting one of them.

The case was registered against the woman in Nasirabad Police Station on the complaint of the Motorway Police personnel.
