Weapons, hand grenades found in Korangi’s Malir Riverbed

Weapons and hand grenades have been recovered from the Malir riverbed in Korangi, according to police, the recovered arms appear to be old.

During the recent rains, heavy machinery had been deployed to strengthen the embankments of Malir River.

While building the protective bund, the weapons and grenades were discovered at a point along the Malir river.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tariq Nawaz confirmed that a bomb disposal squad has been called in to examine the recovered items.

Earlier, five individuals were arrested in injured condition during various police encounters in Karachi. Seven alleged accomplices managed to escape.

Authorities recovered weapons, bullets, cash, mobile phones, and stolen motorcycles from the possession of the arrested suspects.

The injured suspects have been shifted to the hospital for medical treatment, and investigations are underway.
