Lahore stage actor arrested for allegedly torturing, facilitating rape of domestic help

Police in Lahore have arrested a stage actor for allegedly torturing and facilitating the sexual abuse of her 14-year-old domestic worker.

According to the police, the victim alleged that five unidentified men assaulted her at stage actor  Samar Rana's residence. She claimed that the actor also subjected her to torture.

The Nawab Town police registered a first information report (FIR) under the relevant sections of the Pakistan Penal Code and apprehended the actor.

The police said a search was launched to round up other suspects involved in the crime.

It is pertinent to mention here that the stage actor was arrested back in 2022 over alleged fraud after the Lahore High Court (LHC) revoked her bail.

She has been shifted to the women's cell at Lytton Road Police Station for interrogation, according to media reports.

The actor had allegedly defrauded a citizen of Rs 2.6 million in a property deal. She was accused of receiving payment but refused to vacate the house despite repeated notices.

Reports said that the suspect has a history of fraud cases and has previously been involved in similar case.
