Karachi court sentences man to for posting woman's inappropriate photos after proposal rejection

KARACHI: A judicial magistrate (East) has sentenced accused Abdullah to six years in prison for uploading a woman’s inappropriate photos on Facebook after she refused his marriage proposal.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs60,000 on the convict.
According to Prosecutor Shiraz Rajpar, the complainant had befriended the accused, which later turned into an informal engagement.
However, due to the accused’s inappropriate behavior, the friendship was ended. In retaliation, the accused uploaded the woman’s private photos on Facebook to blackmail her.

The prosecution informed the court that forensic analysis of the accused’s mobile phone confirmed that he had created the profile himself and uploaded the pictures.
The court observed that the evidence clearly reflected the accused’s anger and resentment, and that the prosecution had successfully proven the charges.
The case was initially registered by the FIA Cybercrime Wing against the accused.
