Tensions erupted at Karachi's Nishtar Road after a dumper accident left a man dead and his wife injured. Locals, enraged by the incident, set the dumper on fire and staged a protest at the site.

The President of the Dumper Association, Liaquat Mehsud, arrived at the scene accompanied by an armed guard. His presence further angered the crowd, who gathered in front of his vehicle and shouted slogans in protest.

During his departure, one of his guards fired shots into the air, though fortunately, no one was harmed.

Eyewitnesses criticized Liaquat Mehsud, saying he appeared at accident sites primarily concerned about his vehicle rather than the human loss.

In response to the incident, Liaquat Mehsud threatened to close the National Highway in protest. He stated that when he and 15, 20 associates reached the scene, they were attacked by locals.

Mehsud also said that he had requested police support, but was advised to appear at the station instead, with a legal case pending.

The dumper driver involved in the accident, Niaz Hussain, who had fled the scene, was later arrested by police and taken to Garden Police Station.
