Ibrahim’s grandfather gives KMC credit for recovering child's body

Muhammad ul Hassan, the grandfather of three-year-old Ibrahim, who died in an open manhole, has contradicted a young scavenger's claim about the recovery of the toddler's body.

In a video circulating on social media, the grandfather explained that they initially heard that Ibrahim’s body had been found by a scavenger. However, the boy had no proof and was only making claims, he added.

He said that the family had already doubted his statement, even though when a reporter also interviewed the boy, he repeated the same story, which made the family believe he might have recovered the body.

“Later, when we investigated, we found the real facts with proof. It was the KMC [teams] that recovered the child’s body; we have videos as evidence,” he said.

“The real credit goes to the KMC workers. We are thankful to them and to the authorities, because it was due to their efforts that the body was recovered.” He further added that he will hold a press conference in the coming days to reveal the complete truth behind the recovery of the body.
