A young girl reportedly committed suicide in Sindh's district of Ghotki after being harassed and forced to keep a friendship by a rowdy boy in the area.

Sadia Soomro, a resident of the Imam Bargah area in Daharki, took her own life after being repeatedly harassed by a young man named Abdul Hameed Chachar, according to regional media reports.

Sadia was rushed to Rahim Yar Khan in critical condition, where she passed away.

On December 18, Sadia Sooomro along with her mother, filed a complaint at the police station against the harasser.

In the complaints given to the police, the young girl stated that she was forced by Abdul Hameed Chachar, a resident of Dera Ghazi Khan, to be friends with him. She requested legal action against him to ensure protection and justice.

The mother of the deceased claimed that instead of taking action against the culprit, the police started troubling them, leading to the death of her daughter.

Upon the request of the relatives, the police party has arrested the accused.

Meanwhile, a committee has been formed by the police to investigate the matter.
