"Maria was raped by her father, brother several times," reveals elder brother

In a shocking revelation, an elder brother of Maria, who was allegedly killed in the name of honour, said that his father and younger brother had subjected the victim to sexual assault several times.

According to the police, a two-day physical remand of the victim's brother, Faisal, and father, Abdul Sattar was obtained from the local court. 

The victim's other brother, Shehbaz, who recorded the video of the murder, and her sister-in-law, Sameera, seen in the video, have also been investigated by the police.

As per the sources, the suspects killed Maria after she complained of being raped by her father and brother to her sister-in-law and elder brother.

The video of the harrowing incident, which took place on the night of March 17 and 18, also went viral on social media.

In the viral video, the brother could be seen strangling the 22-year-old to death, while her father was calmly witnessing the crime. 

DPO Toba Tek Singh said that DNA tests of fathers and sons were conducted, with samples sent for forensics after the post-mortem and exhumation of the deceased.

Medical examination of Maria's body revealed signs of extreme violence, as bones in her neck were found broken. 

The victim’s autopsy also revealed fractures in her hyoid bone and trachea, indicating that she was strangled with extreme force.
