A local court in Karachi has rejected the bail plea of a man who allegedly harassed his ex-wife by sending her obscene photos and videos to her brother.
The case was heard by a judicial magistrate in Karachi’s Central district. According to the First Information Report (FIR), the suspect, identified as Junaid, allegedly shared indecent images and videos of his ex-wife with her younger brother after she filed for khula (divorce).
The complainant told the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) that she had trusted the accused and married him, but after seeking separation, he attempted to defame and harass her.
During the hearing, the defence lawyer argued that the complainant continued living with the accused even after filing for khula, and claimed that she herself sent the images to her brother to frame Junaid.
However, the FIA prosecutor stated that the phone number used to send the videos was registered in the accused’s name.
The court observed that all legal procedures had been properly followed and that the forensic evidence did not indicate any irregularities. Declaring the charges to be of a serious nature, the court dismissed the suspect’s bail application.
