Court allows exhumation of Mishab's body for medical examination

A Karachi court on Wednesday allowed the investigating officer’s request for exhumation of the body of a woman, who was allegedly tortured to death by her husband.

The court also directed the authorities to submit a detailed report by June 23.

Police produced the suspect, identified as Shaharyar, before the court, where he was handed over to the police on a two-day physical remand to probe the brutal killing.

According to police, the suspect has already confessed to the crime during initial interrogation. Investigators said Shaharyar attacked 18-year-old Misbah on the head with a screwdriver, causing fatal injuries.

The police further told the court that the exhumation was necessary to conduct a detailed post-mortem examination and gather forensic evidence to strengthen the investigation.

The case, which involves allegations of severe domestic abuse leading to murder, has drawn attention due to the violent circumstances surrounding the victim’s death.
