A total of 23 bodies have so far been recovered from Gul Plaza in Karachi, confirmed DIG South on Monday.

The DIG South confirmed that six bodies have been identified, while the identification of the remaining victims will be possible only after DNA testing.

He said that reports of 69 missing persons have been registered so far. Of these, the last known location of 32 missing individuals has been traced to Gul Plaza.

According to the DIG South, data related to the remaining missing persons is being collected for further analysis.

He added that the situation in and around Rampa Plaza and Gul Plaza is fully under control. All entry points of Rimpa Plaza have been secured.

The DIG South further stated that only rescue officials are being allowed to enter the building and no unauthorised person is permitted inside.

Rescue agencies, he said, are continuing their operations with full cooperation from the police.
