19 militants killed in security operations in Balochistan: ISPR

QUETTA: Nineteen militants were killed during separate intelligence-based operations by security forces in Balochistan’s Kech and Quetta districts, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.

According to the military’s media wing, the operations were conducted on September 22 and 23 based on intelligence reports regarding the presence of milit@nts in the two areas.

In Shaban, Quetta, security forces killed 13 milit@nts during an operation targeting hideouts of “Fitna al-Khawarij” and “Fitna al-Hindustan”. The military said the presence of the militants and their hideouts posed a threat to the local population.

In a separate operation in Kech, six militants were killed following an intense exchange of fire with security forces. Weapons and amminition were also recovered from the militants, according to the ISPR.

The military said Subedar Muhammad Jameel of the Pakistan Army was martyred during the exchange of fire in Kech.
