Saudi Arabia honours CDF Field Marshal Asim Munir with King Abdulaziz medal

Saudi Arabia has honoured Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir with the 'King Abdulaziz Medal of Excellent Class' in recognition of his role in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
The honour was conferred by Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz during a meeting in Riyadh, according to the Saudi media. The King Abdulaziz Medal, which has five different classes, is presented to individuals who provide notable services to the kingdom or contribute to its interests.
The Saudi Press Agency said that the medal was awarded for Field Marshal Munir’s “distinguished efforts to strengthen the strategic relationship and cooperation between the two nations”. The ceremony took place during Prince Khalid’s official reception of the Pakistani military chief.
“Prince Khalid congratulated Field Marshal Munir on his appointment as Pakistan’s chief of defence forces, wishing him continued success in his new role,” the report said.
Saudi Gazette reported that discussions during the meeting covered the long-standing Saudi-Pakistani relationship, defence cooperation, and shared efforts to promote regional and international peace and security.
In a post on X, Prince Khalid said, “Upon the directive of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, I presented Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir with the King Abdulaziz Medal of Excellent Class for his distinguished efforts to enhance our cooperation and advance the Saudi-Pakistani relations.”

Meanwhile, Inter-Services Public Relations, said the meeting also discussed regional security, defence ties, strategic cooperation, and evolving geopolitical challenges.
“The interaction reaffirmed the deep-rooted, historic, and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia,” the statement said, adding that the medal is the kingdom’s highest national honour.
