Romanian air chief lauds PAF's professionalism in 'recent success against Indian aggression'

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu met with Lieutenant General Leonard-Gabriel Baraboi, Chief of Staff of the Romanian Air Force during an official visit to Romania.

Upon arriving at the Romanian Air Force Headquarters, the air chief was welcomed with a Guard of Honour presented by a ceremonial contingent of the Romanian Air Force.

The visit featured comprehensive discussions focused on expanding bilateral defence relations, with particular emphasis on joint air exercises, personnel exchange programmes, and enhanced training for air and ground crews.

The two commanders also shared insights on regional and global security issues, reaffirming the strategic importance of collaboration between their respective air forces in promoting peace and stability. Lieutenant General Baraboi commended the professionalism of the Pakistan Air Force, referencing its operational success in recent conflicts and the technological advancements achieved through self-reliance initiatives under Air Chief Marshal Sidhu’s leadership.

Both sides agreed on the need to establish structured frameworks to ensure sustained cooperation in addressing evolving aerial defence challenges. Their talks also explored opportunities for industrial collaboration, particularly in cutting-edge aerospace technologies, with a view toward future joint ventures.

The Air Chief’s visit underscored a growing partnership between Pakistan and Romania, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing defence ties, regional security, and technological collaboration in an increasingly complex global environment.
