A man has been arrested in Rawalakot for allegedly sharing sensitive information with an Indian intelligence agency in return for huge payments.
According to media reports, the suspect, identified as Mohammad Ubaid Jahangir, a resident of Dhakki Basniar Kuiyan village on the outskirts of Rawalakot, was arrested by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on July 23 for investigation.
An FIR lodged against the man was kept secret to ensure smooth investigation into the matter. He was later handed over to the Saddar police station, Muzaffarabad.
The FIR, filed on the complaint of ASI Mushtaq Ahmed of CTD’s Field Investigation Unit, alleged that Jahangir shared photographs and GPS location of sensitive installations via WhatsApp and other digital platforms with India's intelligence agency.

It said that he had also shared photographs and GPS location of Bilal Masjid in Muzaffarabad’s Shawai neighbourhood, which was later hit by Indian missiles on May 6.
The FIR stated that the suspect’s actions were “prejudicial to the interests and security of Pakistan and the State of Jammu and Kashmir,” constituting offences under Sections 3 and 3A of the Official Secrets Act, 1923, as well as Section 54 of the Penal Code.
Saddar Station House Officer Naveedul Hassan confirmed to an English daily that the suspect has been handed over to the police, saying the FIR was kept under wraps until the completion of initial questioning.
