US plans to intensify Iran strikes as regional tensions soar

The United States has informed Israel that it intends to step up its military campaign against Iran in the coming days while urging Tel Aviv to remain out of the current phase of the conflict. 

The report, citing Israeli and US security sources, said Washington is seeking to prevent direct Israeli involvement despite concerns that Iranian retaliation could eventually draw Israel into the fighting.

According to the report, the US has reinforced its military presence by deploying additional aerial refueling aircraft and military equipment to Israel. 

Meanwhile, US forces launched a ninth consecutive day of strikes on Iranian targets, with US Central Command saying the latest wave was aimed at reducing Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. 

Iranian state media reported explosions in several cities, including Tabriz, Chabahar, Konarak, Bandar Mahshahr and Bandar Imam Khomeini.

Iran also reported that two oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz had exploded and become immobilised, raising fresh concerns over global energy supplies and maritime security.
