PTI's Shaukat Yousafzai denies reports of long march postponement

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Secretary Shaukat Yousafzai has denied reports that the party has decided to call off its long march.

Speaking to Geo News, Yousafzai said that no decision had been made to postpone the long march and that PTI’s preparations were complete.

Yousafzai said his party’s planned long march would remain peaceful and that it would not use any government resources during the protest scheduled for September 27.

The PTI leader further alleged that the federal government had violated a court decision by blocking roads with containers.

The reaction came after reports citing sources claimed PTI has decided to postpone its planned long march.

The decision to put off the march — initially scheduled for September 27 — was taken during a meeting of the PTI political committee in Peshawar, the sources said.

The sources had said the decision will be formally announced after Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP) chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai and Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) chief and Senate Opposition Leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas are taken into confidence.
