Motorways, interchanges and GT Road to close ahead of PTI march

The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) have announced the closure of certain sections of the M-1 and M-14 motorways, several interchanges and a section of the GT Road from Wednesday evening ahead of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march.

According to the NHMP, the M-1 motorway will remain closed to all traffic in both directions between Islamabad Toll Plaza and Chach Interchange from Wednesday evening, September 23.

The closures will also include Islamabad Toll Plaza, Fateh Jang/Tarnol Interchange, Sangjani/AWT Interchange, Brahma Bahtar Interchange, Burhan Interchange, Hazara Motorway Interchange, Ghazi Barotha Canal Interchange and Chach Interchange.

Similarly, the M-14 motorway will be closed in both directions between Hakla and Kundal from Wednesday evening. Hakla, Fateh Jang, Pindi Gheb, Khairpur, Tarap, Daud Khel, Kot Belian, Isa Khel and Kundal interchanges will also remain closed.

The GT Road (N-5) will also be closed to all traffic in both directions at Attock Khurd from Wednesday evening.

The closures have been announced in view of the PTI long march.
