KP govt declares day of mourning after helicopter crash, flood-related losses

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced a day of mourning tomorrow to honour those who lost their lives in a tragic helicopter crash as well as the victims of recent flood-related incidents.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur confirmed that a KP government MI-17 helicopter, carrying relief supplies to Bajaur, crashed due to adverse weather conditions.
The accident claimed the lives of five people, including two pilots and three crew members.
He stated that national flags will be flown at half-mast across the province, and the martyrs will be laid to rest with full state honours.
“We share the grief of the bereaved families equally,” the Chief Minister said, offering prayers for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and patience for their families.

Rescue teams have been dispatched to the crash site to recover remains and secure the area. CM Gandapur praised the dedication and courage of the helicopter crew, saying,
“They sacrificed their lives to save others. These are our true heroes, and their bravery will be remembered in golden words in our history.”
