Former prime minister Imran Khan’s sons, Kasim and Suleiman, have launched a campaign advocating for their father’s release from prison, beginning with a visit to the United States. Both have called on the US government to intervene and help secure their father's freedom.
In a recent interview with an American news platform, Kasim Khan voiced concern over the deteriorating conditions of the prison where his father is being held, saying the situation is 'worsening.'
When asked who they are relying on, both within Pakistan and internationally, Kasim responded, “We are looking to America at the moment because a lot of people here have expressed concern.”
He added that Pakistan’s establishment has failed to respond to Amnesty International and other human rights organisations that have declared Imran Khan’s incarceration “unlawful.”

Kasim further said that his father is facing around 200 legal cases. “When he is freed from one case, four or five more are filed against him,” he said.
He also alleged that Imran Khan has been subjected to torture in prison and revealed that neither he nor Suleiman has spoken to their father in four months.
Speaking about his recent US trip and meetings with American representatives, Kasim said he is “very hopeful” that the engagement will lead to a breakthrough.
