Islamabad: The online registration process for Hajj 2027 has received an overwhelming response, with more than 80,000 aspiring pilgrims completing the mandatory registration process within the first three days, according to official figures.
Data generated through the Hajj Management System developed by the National IT Board (NITB) shows that the registered applicants include approximately 47,000 men and 33,000 women, reflecting strong nationwide interest in undertaking the pilgrimage next year.
Among departure cities, Karachi emerged as the most preferred embarkation point for intending pilgrims, followed by Lahore and Islamabad.
The registration statistics also indicate significant participation from younger age groups, with the majority of applicants falling between 25 and 50 years of age.
Educational data collected during the registration process reveals that around 1,000 applicants hold PhD degrees, while 17,000 possess Master's degrees, 21,000 are Bachelor's degree holders and approximately 12,000 have completed intermediate education (FA).
Officials said the National IT Board's digital platform is enabling a fully paperless and end-to-end digitised Hajj operation, aimed at improving efficiency, transparency and convenience for pilgrims.
The mandatory registration campaign for Hajj 2027 will continue throughout the public holidays, allowing more prospective pilgrims to complete the process.
Authorities said details regarding Hajj expenses, packages and other operational arrangements will be announced during the second phase of the programme.
