Four injured in Supreme Court building blast in Islamabad

A powerful explosion rocked the Supreme Court building in Islamabad on Tuesday, according to media reports.

They said that the explosion took place at the canteen of the apex court, adding that the incident occurred during maintenance work at the air-conditioning gas plant.

Four people sustained injuries in the incident and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Following the explosion, a Bomb Disposal Squad team reached the Supreme Court premises and began collecting evidence from the scene.

The blast also caused damage to furniture and other items in the canteen.

Reports said the explosion was so strong that it startled lawyers inside the courtrooms, prompting many to rush out of their chambers. Courtroom No. 6 of the Supreme Court was also affected by the impact of the blast.

An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the blast.
